Overview
History
It was the blizzard of 1978. New England was experiencing high winds and blinding
snow. Motorists were stranded at work and on the freeway trying to get home to
their families. What better time to launch the CVS Samaritan Program. A program
until this time no community has ever seen. Even though a State of Emergency
was called, the
CVS
Van hit the streets searching for people to help. The local streets were barely
passable and up on the freeway it looked like one big parking lot. The CVS Samaritan
worked literally day and night starting cars, treating the injured, keeping people
warm in the CVS Van, doing everything possible to bring people home to their
families. The philosophy and dedication to the "Good Samaritan Concept" is
the same today as it was in 1978. The CVS Samaritan will go to amazing lengths
to
help anyone; anyone who needs a helping hand. CVS Samaritan Vans have been serving
communities across the nation ever since.

Future Goals
The service is quite exceptional and the mission is clear. Help as many people
as you can with unconditional positive regard for everyone. Make a difference
in people's live and the community they live in.
The Good Samaritan Concept has never waivered. It has never gone out of favor
nor out of date.
People here in our own community and in communities throughout the world appreciate
a no strings attached warm smile and helping hand. It is that care, compassion,
and concern that the CVS Samaritan offers. The response from people everywhere
has
been just
amazing. Someday the CVS Samaritan may be in your community ready to help
when help is needed the most.
